1. JSERRA (8-0): Sophomore receiver Tessa Russell caught seven passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-6 victory over Edison. Next: Wednesday at Torrey Pines.
2. NEWPORT HARBOR (5-1): The Sailors have three freshman standouts in quarterback Sammy Palmer and wide receivers Jordan Sanders and Iris Yokoi. Next: Monday vs. Woodbridge.
3. ORANGE LUTHERAN (4-1): In their four wins, the Lancers have given up a total of six points, shutting out Aliso Niguel, Bonita Vista and La Serna. Next: Tuesday at Downey.
4. HUNTINGTON BEACH (3-1): Sophomore receiver Kayden Foley is off to a fast start with 14 catches for 161 yards and four touchdowns in four games. Next: Monday vs. Los Alamitos.
5. EDISON (5-2): Chargers will try to avenge a tournament loss to Newport Harbor in the teams’ first Sunset League meeting Wednesday. Next: Monday vs. Marina.
6. WESTLAKE (6-2): Junior receiver Olivia Elsokary already has 22 receptions for 232 yards and six touchdowns and 25 flag pulls on defense. Next: Tuesday vs. Dos Pueblos.
7. SIERRA CANYON (3-2): Angelina “Happy” Dubois has 25 catches for 347 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 13.9 per catch for her new team. Next: Tuesday vs. Alemany.
8. DOS PUEBLOS (4-2): Senior Brooklyn Hedricks has 40 flag pulls on defense and 12 receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns on offense. Next: Tuesday at Westlake.
9. LAKEWOOD ST. JOSEPH (5-0): Senior quarterback Lexi Loya has run or thrown for 18 of the Jesters’ 19 scores and safety Jaclynn Brennan has three picks. Next: Tuesday vs. Redondo Union.
